The Crankworx FMBA Slopestyle World Championship’s first stop launches from the dirt gold and amidst the mighty Redwoods of Skyline Rotorua Gravity Park. New Zealand’s grand master of the discipline, Kelly McGarry, and his building partner, Tom Hey, designed and built one of the best slopestyle courses in the world before McGarry passed away in 2016. The event was renamed in his honour. Long live the legendary McGazza. ❤️
The Rotorua event is a special one for many reasons. Like every Crankworx Slopestyle, it is the marquee event of the festival, bringing together the elite of the discipline eager to prove themselves and start their season off with a bang. With Brett Rheeder taking a year out to focus on other projects, the top spot is wide open!
The Maxxis Slopestyle in Memory of McGazza, as well as all other events part of the quest for the Crankworx FMBA Slopestyle World Championship, is broadcast LIVE on all your devices on Red Bull TV.

Concursul se va desfășura între București și Snagov prin păduri și drumuri de țară pe o distanță de aproximativ 55 de km. În fiecare an a fost maratonul cu cel mai mare număr de participanți 1300 în condiții de ploaie (2011) și 2150 (2012).
Maratonul este accesibil, dar se recomandă antrenament înainte -- cel puțin 2-3 ieșiri mai lungi pe teren accidentat (drumuri forestiere, poteci...). De asemenea, se recomandă o mai mare grijă în hidratare, alimentație și echiparea minimă pentru orice ciclist (citește paginile sfaturi și regulament).
Traseul este marcat pe toată distanța, are 3 zone de alimentare, 12 puncte de control, o zonă de start și alta de finish, este asistat de poliție și salvare, patrulat de oficialii competiției, echipe de fotografi și cameramani.
